When choosing a railing system for your seaside architecture, you need to consider the tear and wear on the railing by humidity and salt spray, because the seaside buildings have a high material requirement. But you also have to think about appearance. Then, you could choose the material and surface for the stainless steel posts and handrails according to your preference. We prefer to recommend AISI316 mirror finish, this material and surface treatment is better corrosion resistance, not easy to be eroded by sea air.

That means it will last longer than 304 or 305 stainless steel, but not forever. Smooth surfaces don’t allow salt to accumulate easily, but it still to be wiped down the railing cables every once in a while.

While stainless steel is fairly resistant to corrosion, it still needs to be cleaned regularly to prevent salt buildup if used on a beachside deck. Allowing salt to leave on the surface of steel can cause premature corrosion.
